About Me
I’m someone who finds clarity and energy in quiet moments, whether I’m walking through a city or standing alone in an open landscape. I live in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where proximity to the ocean occasionally draws me toward seascapes and shoreline studies. Outside of photography, I work in the corporate world as a strategy and process improvement professional—work that has taught me to consider multiple perspectives, a skill that naturally affects how I observe the world with a camera.
A search for a creative outlet brought me to the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where I completed its professional certificate program. Instructors John Hames and Lindsey Elgin encouraged me to see my images not as isolated moments but as parts of a cohesive portfolio, a shift that changed how I approached my work.
When I’m out shooting, I move slowly and deliberately. In cities, I watch for the decisive moment—an isolated figure, a fleeting gesture, a pocket of light. In landscapes, I’m drawn to shapes, lines, contrast, and scenes where a subject feels small within a larger world. My style leans minimalist, but what matters most is creating images that feel emotional and immersive.
My influences range from Ansel Adams’ disciplined approach to landscape to Henri Cartier‑Bresson’s instinctive timing on the street. Friends describe me as pragmatic and thoughtful—someone who values reflection and quiet. I hope that sense of space and contemplation comes through in my work, offering viewers a moment to pause and consider something larger than themselves.
I’ve given presentations on New York City street photography, photographing landscapes in Yosemite Valley, and the challenges and benefits of infrared photography.
